The Helderberg Wine and Food Route comprises the town of Somerset-West, Strand and Gordon’s Bay.
The vines lie on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains and combine the influences of both a mountain and maritime climate, producing some very unique wines.
The 30+ members of the Helderberg Wine Route follow distinctly different methods of growing grapes, from a 500 year old historical cellar to state of the art boutique wineries and visiting the wide range of family-owned estates and grand manor houses.
Some of the Helderberg Wine Estates offer spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean.
You will also find very good restaurant for wine and food pairings in this wine region.
Somerset-West and Strand is only 20 minutes from the Cape Town International Airport which makes this very convenient for anyone wishing to visit this wine area.
